Besan

Pakode, kadhi, laddoo, chilla. All of these need a good besan, and the taste depends a lot on the dal it is made from.

Our besan is made only from chana dal. The dal comes from the village, is cleaned the traditional way and ground fresh on a stone chakki. When you open the pack, you will notice the smell of freshly ground flour, which you don’t often get in packed besan.

Use it for pakora, kadhi, besan chilla, dhokla, sev, laddoo or halwa. It also works well for batters and for thickening gravies. If you are making laddoo or halwa, roast it slowly on low flame until it smells nutty. Packed at Special Sarv, Hisar, Haryana.
